Sigsync Office 365 Email Signature support for Message Recall / Revoke in Outlook
You want to confirm whether Sigsync Azure email service is compatible with the message recall feature in Microsoft Outlook.
Sigsync works well with message recall / revoke in Outlook; however, it is important to be aware of certain limitations:
Recalling messages in Outlook desktop apps:
In order to accurately identify a message in the recipient's mailbox, the message recall feature in Outlook makes use of a specific property called 'SearchKey' within the Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI).
The 'SearchKey' property in Microsoft Exchange serves various purposes, but it can undergo changes if the email is routed through a connector. Consequently, when message recall is attempted in such cases, it is unlikely to succeed as the system cannot accurately identify the intended message for recall.
Based on the update that we have from Microsoft that this behavior cannot be modified. Therefore, for organizations that heavily rely on the message recall feature, it is recommended to use Client-side (Outlook Add-in) mode signatures because in server-side mode, Sigsync signatures require connectors, and the recall / revoke functionality does not operate when messages are relayed through these connectors.
If you have remote domains, it is important to ensure that your Remote domains settings are properly configured to enable the usage of rich-text format (with TNEF enabled) for your internal domains.

- For successful message recall, it is essential that both the sender and the recipient possess a Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Exchange email account within the same organization. It is important to note that the recall feature will not function when attempting to recall emails sent externally.
- To recall a message, you must be using Outlook for Windows, the new Outlook for Windows, or Outlook on the web (OWA). This feature is not available in Outlook versions on other platforms.
- If the recipient has already opened and read the email, the recall will not be successful. Instead, the recipient will receive a notification indicating the sender's attempt to recall the message.
- It is necessary that both the recall message and the email intended to be recalled are located within the same folder in the recipient's mailbox.
- Recall is not supported for the messages that have been secured using Azure Information Protection
